2026 Angling Rules for Your Carp Fishing Holiday

GROUP LEADER – PLEASE READ

If you made the booking, you are the group leader and it is your responsibility
to make sure everyone in your group has read and understood these rules before
arriving at Juvanzé Lakes.

Please share this page with everyone coming on the trip and make sure there are
no surprises when you arrive.

SHARE THESE RULES WITH YOUR GROUP

A QUICK WORD BEFORE YOU START

Let’s be straight with each other.

These rules aren’t here to spoil your holiday. They’re here to protect the
fish, the atmosphere around the lakes and our livelihood.

We’ve heard every excuse and we’ve seen what happens when people decide the
rules don’t apply. It ruins the fishing for everyone and spoils the place
we’re all here to enjoy.

So please don’t treat us like we’re daft. We know our fish, we know our lakes
and we know when something isn’t right. Be honest with us, show some respect
and we’ll give you the same in return.

Arrival and departure times are strict. We have a three-hour window between
groups to turn the lakes and facilities around for the next guests, so please
leave on time and don’t arrive early.

Our aim is simple: we want you to have a great week’s fishing, enjoy the
lakes, look after the fish and come back again.

Most of these rules are simply common sense and good fish care. If anything
is unclear, ask us.

Before You Fish

Get the basics right before a rod goes out.

1
Arrival and departure times are strict.
Please do not arrive before 1pm on Saturday and you must leave the site no
later than 10am the following Saturday. We have a three-hour window to
prepare the lakes and facilities for the next group, so please leave on time
and do not arrive early.
2
Boilies and carp pellets only – nothing else.
High-quality freezer bait must be used. Shelf-life boilies are not permitted.
See our

bait and bait boat information

if you need bait for your trip.
3
No plastic or any other artificial baits.
4
Barbless hooks only.
No barbed, micro-barbed or crushed-barb hooks. We do check.
5
Use the unhooking mats provided.
Please do not bring your own.
6
Bring your own landing net and weigh sling.
Landing nets must be a minimum of 42″ and XL flotation weigh slings must be
at least 130cm. Weigh slings are available to rent for €8 per week.
7
Nets and weigh slings must be bone dry and accessible for inspection
and dipping on arrival.

Fish Care

Our fish come first. Every time.

8
No unattended rods.
Take extra care when fishing close to snags.
9
Allow the fish 5–10 minutes to recover once in the landing net
before moving them onto the mat.
10
Fish should be unhooked in the water and slid into a weigh sling.
Check that the fins are flat before lifting the fish onto a wet unhooking mat.
Always use fresh lake water to wet the fish. Hot water that has been sitting
in buckets can burn the fish.
11
Take great care of the fish.
All fish must be returned to the lake immediately after weighing, applying
approved treatments and taking photographs.
12
No fish are to be retained under any circumstances.
If you’re concerned about a fish, call the bailiff immediately.
13
Remove jewellery before handling fish.
This includes rings, watches, chains and bracelets.

Tackle & Rigs

Safe tackle protects the fish and gives you the best chance of landing them.

14
Maximum 3 rods per angler.
15
Minimum 0.37mm mainline must be used.
16
Never pull for a break.
Contact the bailiff if you need help.
17
No braided mainlines.
Rig tubing is encouraged.
18
Unleaded leaders are allowed.
19
Use rigs that are safe for the fish.
If in doubt, ask. No OMC Magic Twigs.
You can also check our
FAQ
for more information.
20
Bait boats are allowed.

Around the Lakes

Respect the place, the wildlife and the people around you.

21
Vehicles must be parked in the designated parking area
after unloading or loading your gear at the swims.
22
No swimming.
23
No inflatable boats or similar.
24
No tree climbing.
25
No fires.

Safety & Respect

Enjoy yourself, but use some common sense.

26
Drink responsibly. If you’re not fit to fish, don’t.
Your safety, the safety of others and the welfare of the fish come first.
Accidents occurring while under the influence of alcohol are not covered
by French public liability insurance.
27
Fishing during lightning storms is not advised and is undertaken
at your own risk.

During severe weather such as strong winds or extreme heat, use common
sense and follow any instructions given by the Juvanzé Lakes team.
28
Fishing is strictly limited to Juvanzé Lakes.
DO NOT fish the surrounding lakes – they are private property.
29
Treat the site, facilities, nature and other people with respect.
Leave litter correctly separated in the bins. Collect cigarette ends and
bottle tops, and leave the facilities clean and tidy for the next guests.
30
All unused bait must be taken home or donated to the bailiff.
Do not dump unused bait in the lake.
31
No loud radios.

Boat & Safety

One simple rule for using the boat.

32
The boat is only for releasing snagged fish.
A life jacket must be worn at all times when using the boat.
