Carp fishing holidays at Juvanzé Blue
Juvanzé Blue is our popular big fish lake with mirrors to 67lb and commons to 60lb, best suited to experienced anglers.
There are several carp over 60lb, plenty of 50s and many 40s. The lake also holds around 40 bighead carp, with a record of 81lb, adding another exciting target.
Juvanzé Blue is a picturesque, mature gravel pit covering around 5 acres. The banks are grassy and lined with overhanging trees, and the lake bed is a mix of gravel and clay with plenty of features to fish to.
The lake featured in a Reelfishing UK film in 2017, where Daniel managed a new personal best and between them they landed 33 fish, including 8 over 40lb up to 52lb.

March
Early season can be very rewarding on Juvanzé Blue. The lake’s been rested since the end of November, and the carp are often more catchable than many anglers expect. Early March can still feel quite wintery, but casting small PVA bags or singles to showing fish can be incredibly effective. When they’re feeding over the clay they leave obvious coloured clouds in the clear water, making them surprisingly easy to locate. With our relaxed bait rules allowing maggots and corn, anglers looking for an edge have a real advantage early in the season.
April & May
April and May are when the lake really starts to wake up. The fish begin moving more consistently and feeding well as conditions warm. As always on Blue, locating fish is the key, and anglers who spend time watching the water often enjoy the best results. The weather is usually comfortable too, making it a really enjoyable time of year to be on the bank.
June – August
If you enjoy warm weather and long evenings on the bank, summer is a lovely time to visit Juvanzé Blue. The fish are active, regularly showing themselves and generally feeding well. Big carp have a habit of turning up when you least expect them, with some of the lake’s biggest fish being caught in blazing sunshine.
September & October
September and October are traditionally some of the most popular weeks of the year on Blue. The weather is often settled, the fish are feeding hard and catches can be exceptional. It’s easy to see why so many of our regulars book these dates well in advance, and it’s a period that consistently produces some of the lake’s best results.
November
November is one of my favourite months on Juvanzé Blue. Between October and November the carp are putting on weight ahead of winter and often carry their best weights of the season while looking absolutely incredible. With the silver fish much quieter, maggots and corn can become a real edge, and every year the lake produces some outstanding late-season captures. We’ve also put together a more detailed guide to why March and November are two of our favourite times of year to fish in France.
