Carp fishing holidays France at Juvana
Juvana is the perfect social lake, offering easy fishing with carp to 57lb, grass carp to 72lb and bighead carp to 60lb. Big hits are common and it is suitable for anglers of all abilities. Both Juvana and Lake Juvanzé offer a very similar style of fishing holiday, designed to meet demand for this popular social fishing experience.
Juvana was designed as a social lake for groups of mates that prefer to fish close together on holiday. There are four swims fishing out from a central island in around 5.5 acres, all with plenty of water in front of each swim and lots of features.
Juvana was stocked in 2017 with a total of 220 carp. The current average weight is over 30lb, with several 50s and plenty of target fish over 40lb.
The lake featured in a Reelfishing UK film in 2019, where between the group they managed to bank 127 fish, including a few new personal bests.

March
Early season can be very productive on Juvana. The lake’s been rested since the end of November, and with such a healthy stock of carp the action often starts sooner than many anglers expect. Early March can still feel quite wintery, but once fish begin showing, casting singles or small PVA bags to them can work really well. With the silver fish still quiet, maggots and corn can also give you a real edge early in the season.
April & May
April and May are when Juvana really starts to wake up. The fish are moving regularly, feeding well and becoming increasingly active as the water warms. The island layout really comes into its own too, allowing a group to cover a huge amount of water between them and work together to stay on the fish. The carp rarely hold up in one area for long, so the island layout allows the group to keep tabs on fish as they patrol the lake. It’s a great time of year for a social trip with plenty of action.
June – August
If you enjoy warm weather, long evenings around the BBQ and fishing with a group of mates, summer is hard to beat on Juvana. The island layout and short walks between the swims make it easy for everyone to fish together while covering plenty of water. The fish are active, and summer is a great time to have a go for one of the lake’s big grass carp.
September & October
September and October are a popular time to visit Juvana. The weather is often settled, the fish are feeding hard and catches can be excellent. It’s a great time to enjoy both the fishing and the social side of the lake, with the island layout making it easy for everyone to stay together throughout the week. If you’re planning a trip with friends, you’ll find plenty more tips in our guide to group carp fishing holidays in France.
November
November is a strong finish to the season on Juvana. The carp are often carrying some of their best weights of the year and looking in fantastic condition. With the silver fish much quieter, maggots and corn can become a real edge, and it’s well worth a look if you’re flexible on dates and want to target the lake’s biggest fish before the winter break.
